My name is...it's...just a second

It's Deena!  And my keys are in my purse, as long as my 13 year old son heard and obeyed me earlier:-)

2. Are you pretty cracked, hard boiled or just a little scrambled?

Totally cracked...it's a poorly kept secret:-)

3. Who's your favorite Bible chick? Why?

I absolutely adore Deborah...and her sidekick, Jael...the Thelma and Louise of Scripture:-)

4. What church do you go to? What do you do there?

I attend Loma Rica Baptist Church, and as the pastor's wife...I do a little bit of everything.  But my heart is in teaching.

5. Which describes you best: a) Bible Study Chick, b) Fiction Chick, c) Mama Chick, d) Blogging Chick or e) Crafty Chick?

Depending on the day of the week...probably a cross between Bible study chick and Fiction chick...but my kids love it when I'm a mama Chick...they call me the Momenator:-)

Faithchick of the Week: Katy McKenna

Hey ladies! Thanks so much to everyone who responded to our Faithchick of the Week Questionnaire. Keep the responses coming. You never know who's next! This week's Faithchick? Katy McKenna from Fallible.com. (Sorry about botching your name before, Katy!) Here are her answers to our little quiz:

1. Who am I, including passions and cuckoo-makers? I am an aspiring boomer-lit novelist, with my first novel merely INCHES from completion. :) I am passionate about my heritage. (Dad was born in Scotland, his dad in Ireland...) and climbing ever higher in my squirrely family tree. Medical malpractice makes me nuts. Don't ask.

2. Where do you live, go to church, and do? Kansas City, Christ Community Church (which is Evangelical Free, although I still don't know for sure whether that means free to be Evangelicals or free OF evangelicals...). I am an aspiring author, married with three grown kids. I currently provide care for my mother and MIL, who both live in assisted living and are, let's just say, needy.

3. Who inspires me and what energizes me? My husband of 30 years inspires me with his gentleness, encouragement, and constant support--even when I'm not...um...nice. I'm energized by being around creative people, especially writers.

4. OK, the soy latte is SO not going to happen! Tried it once and thought I'd die. Can't have any sugar, so I'll go for an iced Americano with Splenda and room for half-and-half. You'll still let me join you, won't you?? :)

5. Version of the Bible and favorite verse? I'm an old Jesus Freak. Back in the day, we read the New American Standard, and it's still my very fave. Verse is "He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it." Also, from Jeremiah 15, "If you will separate the precious from the worthless, you will be My spokesman." Separating the precious from the worthless is what good editing is all about, eh? I love that verse!!
