Our church is currently encouraging its members to set their timers at the top of every waking hour. When the timer goes off, we are to pray for just a minute or two, then back to work until the next beeper goes
I thought I "prayed without ceasing" before, all, but I see how lacking I've truly been. With each bleep of the alarm, it's like a jolt to bring me back into His presence.
At first, I wanted to ignore some of the calls, especially, when I was on a creative run with my writing. But Jesus called to me. How could I turn Him away? It's not as though He couldn't help me with that creative thing again.
So I turn to Him. We share a few minutes, then it's back to work.
I'm amazed how much I'm enjoying the "interruption." Turning to Him when HE calls to ME.
Practicing His presence, every hour of every day.
What a novel idea.
