My family (husband, four kids and a dog) is moving for the fifth time in 6 years. I know military wives do this all the time with grace and finesse. I am not a military mom. I am an ADD mom, whose proud of myself when I've accomplished all the mom activities I'm supposed to in a day; haven't forgot someone at swimming/soccer, etc.
We're moving into half the space, and I don't have access to the place at the moment, so I'm freaking out a little about where everything is going to go, what I can actually move, what I need to sell, etc. Did I mention school starts August 23?
I know it will all get done. In the meantime, numbing myself by retail therapy is my weapon of choice. Not actually buying, just shopping/planning, trying to understand the outcome as best I can. Nesting and preparing a home for my kids as best I can. What do you do to escape harsh realities? Is there anything you know is a waste of time, but yet find yourself doing it anyway to relax? And is that a waste of time? Shopping has to be an International language because my shopping books are available in five languages. LOL
Kristin is the author of over 40 novels, including the very shopping savvy Ashley Stockingdale series starting with "What a Girl Wants"
I escape by reading books especially when there is a significant change that occurs in my life. Also just being on the net can sometimes help life just to fade away! So Trying to keep a balance can be fun.
