Camy here. Kelli Standish told me about this great interview up on CNN right now with Debbie Macomber.
Debbie’s latest novel, Twenty Wishes, is about a group of women who write down 20 wishes—things they always wanted to do but never did.
Debbie also has a Set Your Wish Free web site where people can enter their wishes. Some of them are phenomenal and moving.
Kelli suggested people list their own 20 wishes. So here goes:
1) I wish my house were paid off.
2) I wish I weren’t a little agoraphobic because it makes doing simple errands a slightly stressful experience.
3) I wish I were more compassionate.
4) I wish I loved God’s word as fervently and passionately as King David did.
5) I wish I feared God more.
6) I wish writing ideas would come more easily to me so it wouldn’t take so long to come up with a new proposal.
7) I wish I’d stop eating so much so I could lose 30 pounds.
8) I wish I’d be more disciplined about walking the dog.
9) I wish I could read faster.
10) I wish I were better about sweeping and vacuuming.
11) I wish I could dance! (I just watched America’s Best Dance Crew.)
12) I wish my family were Christians.
13) I want to travel to England, France, and Italy before I die.
14) I pray I can make enough through writing so that I don’t have to go back to biology work.
15) I pray for the end of my friends’ financial troubles.
16) I wish I had time to read all the books I want to read!
17) I wish chocolate had no calories. And while I’m at it, French fries and potato chips, too.
18) I wish my Uncle Richard were still alive.
19) I wish my knees would stop cracking.
20) I pray for Christ to come again.
