I'm big on prayer journals. And I found a verse the other day in Romans that said if you give God your first fruits then your first fruits are righteous, and if your first fruits are righteous then the rest will be righteous--it was talking about bread and money, but I think it applies to writing, as well. I try to write to God every day before I write anything else. Though I'm not as obsessive about it as you are;)

First of all, thank you for your faith. Every night, I contribute something to my journal. Rarely is there an entry that isn't spiritually centered. I bound my own journal for just the reason you mentioned: It should lay flat. I figure, the contents are personal, the journal itself should be. Here's where I bought my binder:
