Camy here. Last night we watched a Food Network show about chefs competing to create chocolate international landmarks.
Aside from the fact they were all amazing, the sheer amount of chocolate made me drool.
What is it about chocolate that’s so wonderful? Why do I crave it every month, regardless of hormone levels? I almost feel like I’m addicted to it.
I think a part of me doesn’t like being a slave to something. Okay, well, I’m not a slave to chocolate but I’m sure not a nice person if I want some and can’t find any (I don’t bite ... and I only throw things a little).
Is it the combination of sweet and bitter? Is it the creamy texture? I know it’s not the fact it has free radicals, too much carbs, a small portion of caffeine, and more fat than is good for my thighs.
Good and bad, combined. Didn’t Mom (or maybe it was Grandma) always say not to trust something if it tasted good? That only nasty tasting things were good for you?
Well, it’s Valentine’s Day. It should be the American chocolate holiday. Forget roses and jewelry. (Okay, well, don’t forget roses and jewelry because both of those are quite nice.)
Today I anticipate indulgence, along with millions of other women, united in our addictions. Calories are meaningless for today (and will count for double tomorrow). Chocoholics across the US have prepared for this day with gallons of milk to wash down the decadence that is ... Valentine’s Day.
Happy V-Day, babes.

Hey, I heard that a little bite of dark or white chocolate every day is good for you. By little bite I mean 30 calories, so I guess that's more of a lick. Enjoy!
