Hey everyone! I got a surprise box of ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) today for Songs of Deliverance. And you know what that means...CONTEST! (And sorry, if you just won an influencer copy on Facebook, you can't win this one too). The cool thing is...these ARCs will be different from the final version. I know right.... However gets these will be able to see the "deleted scenes" from our little mind movie in Testimony, Ohio. So enough from me, here's how to win!
Answer one of the following questions (250-500 words, top 9 responses win):
1. Which Rhythms of Grace/Songs of Deliverance character would you like to be: Zeely, Grace, Jerry, Ron or Brian? Why?
2. Who is your favorite teen character in the stories: Monique, Sean or Quinn?
3. If Shirley Rogers had been your teacher, what blessing would she have spoken over you?
That's it! Contest is open until midnight EST 8/31/09
Until then,
Mairlynn

If I could be anyone from Rhythms of Grace, I would pick to be Grace. Grace’s family moved her away when something bad happened, so all she ever knew was to push pass the pain and keep on living. I’m not sure I am strong enough today to return to a place where I was hurt really, badly, and in a way let down by those who should’ve protected me. But she did and that is the type of courage I would want. For me Grace stood for so many things. Even the connection she had with Brian, when he first played the drums for her and she dance freely, signified that she was strong willed from day one. And no matter what others said about her she was full of grace (no pun intended). She accepted herself for who she was.
When she returned to Testimony, I believed she made the people who have been living in that town for so long start to look at the things they had been trying to avoid all this time. From Brian dealing with his past, to Zeely still worrying about what others would think about her being in love with Ron. Grace owned who she was and knew she wasn’t perfect. As reluctant as she was to return to Testimony she did it because she was asked to, but mostly as a way to face her demons. That to me is a selfless act as well as proving to those around her and herself that she could overcome any obstacle placed in front of her.
