There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
(Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8, NIV)
Happy New Year everyone! It's 2007. Can you believe it? I can. It seems only a few months ago that I came here and declared my word for 2006, wisdom. Little did I know what I was in for on that one. There were many lessons to be learned in pursuit of wisdom. It is more than my word for last year, it is something that I will spend the rest of my life running after. Without it, I've learned, a person, even a Christian will not live in the fullness of Christ.
Which brings me to this year's word:
PEACE.
I learned this year that it hard to walk in wisdom without peace. And it hard to be at peace without giving oneself over to God, accepting what He has to offer and what He chooses to withhold. It doesn't mean that conflict will never be present, but godly wisdom requires a lot of room to grow. That said, this will be last blog here. I'll update my home page with book news, occasional posts and interviews with other authors. I'll still be posting on Faithchick and doing the occasional newsletter.
I started this blog to chronicle a manic mama's road to publication. It's been a great run, but that mama needs to simplify in 2007. I appreciate every comment, every read you've given me here. I pray that God's best will be poured out on your life in every way. Please share your word for the year in the comments.
Again, thanks for sharing this journey with me.
See you on the bookshelf,
MG

Well, looks like we will be on similar paths this year. God gave me two words for 2007: Peace and Simplicity. I'm looking forward to some of both.

Oh, M
I don't know if we'll see each other face to face before we get to heaven, but I sure have enjoyed reading your blog and getting to know you 'electronically'. I'm sorry to see you go and I'll miss those updates on the kids especially the twin adventures.
I believe I've been hearing the word Hope for a specific reason. It stands out when people speak and when I read it in the word.
Hope is my word for the new year. There have been some prophecies about new beginnings and 'graduation day'. Is there a big or a series of small graduation days in your future?
Remember to celebrate your victories and not to dwell too long in those vallies.
Nehemia partied every ten days, and I've decided to hostess a tea party once a month every month this year.
Yes, I have gone looney tunes! lol
I have a blog on bravenet under tearose. I haven't updated it lately because of the holidays and all, but pop in once and a while and say 'hih' if you get the time and share of cup of 'Friendship and Kindness" (tm) with me.
With warm affection, your sister in Christ, Melissa

Miss Mary,
My word hit me in the head around the first of December ( a long ugly/beautiful story that will not be showing up in my blog.)
2007's word for me is GRACE, toward both myself and others.
Thanks for your blog for the past two years. Your posts have lifted me up in ways you can't imagine.
Best wishes,
ALP

"Hard to walk in wisdom without peace..."
That is so true. Your next statement is even more true. (if that were possible.)
Thank you!

Marilynn,
I have one chapter left in If the Shoe Fits. Ohhh girl! This book is yummy!!! I am truly already in mourning, I do not want it end.
I told my dear man today, "Something in that book reached out, grabbed me by the neck of my shirt and yanked me inside the pages. I am living this book. One minute I am laughing, the next madder than hops and sobbing the next. I love it."
He just thinks I'm crazy but that's okay. I am in the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance, as you know this book is on the tour this coming Wednesday through Friday. Could I ask you some questions for my blog?
(When is book 2 in the Sassy Sistahood going to be out?)Hey, I love this book so much on a blog of mine I'm posting teasers about it! In fact if you go to my blog page (by clicking on my name) I posted a quote from the book. One I think I'll have all around my house.
Thank you!

I got Made of Honor as suggested by my good friend (itslikebuttababy.com) but I haven't started it yet. I'm ALREADY going through some changes being a maid of honor this year (for the third time) in a wedding that I don't approve of, so I'm sure the book will "make light" of my situation. I'm looking forward to reading it. Just wanted to say hi as I'm new to this blog world and I plan to be a regular hitter on your site. Great word for the year and I totally am on the same page. My words are simplify and economize. Peace to you and yours.
