Sometimes when you meet somebody, you can tell just by looking that she knows how to have fun.
Lynda Walker is such a person. Her daughter, Sherika Walker, was one of the first readers I featured. (I met her at the grocery store and invited her to a book function. She came and the rest is history!) I was also blessed to meet her mother, who I could also tell was funny about her books. LOL Well, not long ago I got an email from her about Happily Even After. Here's what she had to say:
Hi Marilynn,
I'm in the middle of the book Happy Even After, Oh I'm sorry, I did not introduce myself. I'm Lynda Walker, Sherika Walker's Mom, I meet you at my granddaughter birthday party about this time last year. I did get the pleasures of meeting the tribe as well but anyway I love each and every book I've had the pleasures of reading. Now I'm sending this email making request for more literature and exciting stories of God, this is book is the smallest of them all and the most powerful of them all, I think I heard somewhere good things come in small packages. Keep it coming Marilynn and send me an updated list of books to purchase.
Thank you very much for letting God use you as a way of touching lives in a very comical way, though your writing.
I love your books and the reading experience I had has been the bomb.
P.S. Write more books, because a sister is waiting for something good to read.
For Lynda, I'm going to try to do just that, write something she'll think is good to read. As you can tell by her smile, that's no small order. Thanks for meeting another of my reader friends. If you've enjoyed one of my novels and would like to be featured, please send a note about your favorite book of mine, your photo and a short bio (50 words or so)
